Photography Workshop in Paris—
March 11 - 17, 2011

Once again we are delighted to offer our Paris Photography workshop with well-known photographer and teacher Neal Parent. Neal brings his discerning eye and relaxed teaching style from the coast of Maine to the boulevards of Paris without missing a beat. Workshops are geared to the skill level and interests of participants – both beginners and more advanced photographers are welcome. Work in digital or black and white or both, as you prefer.

Daily shooting sessions around Paris, evening and interior shooting, and daily critique sessions are included.

Past workshops have explored both well-known monuments and local street scenes as subject matter, along with some lesser known locations. Evening shooting at the Eiffel Tower, the Sunday market on the rue Mouffetard, the tomb art of Père Lachaise and the glass-ceilinged 19th century shopping galleries are a few of the sites captured by our lenses.

What next for this year?

A morning along the idyllic Canal Saint Martin with its locks and iron bridges, a visit to the multi-national market at Place d’Aligre, night shooting in the courtyard of the Louvre, the village life of the backside of Montmartre, the many bridges of the Seine. For those new to Paris, we’ll be sure to include time for the classic sights as well – Notre Dame, the Arc de Triomphe, and of course, the Eiffel Tower.

And of course, markets, cafés, street scenes, and sidewalk artists. We include dinner or lunch daily at charming bistros and local restaurants where the food is also worth a picture or two.
