About Latitudes Travel & Tours

Lyons old town 2006 marks ten years of business for Latitudes Travel & Tours. During that time we’ve customized travel to all parts of France, from Paris to Provence, down the Loire and up the Rhone.

Our clients are young and not so young, honeymooners and retirees, families and groups of friends. Our groups have numbered as small as four and as large as a hundred fifty (that was fun! ) What our clients and we have in common is a delight in travel and exploration and the urge to uncover the authentic experience and unique journey that belongs to each traveler.

Jo Beichler, founder and president of Latitudes Travel & Tours, has been traveling to and around France since she was twenty years old. She has lived in two opposite ‘corners of France,’ Strasbourg in Alsace, and Pau, in the shadow of the Pyrenees. She has earned degrees in French and French literature, including a degree from the University of Strasbourg, and has taught French to university students and adults. She is fluent in French and returns to France several times a year, for business (and because she just can’t stay away.)

Jo has worked in the travel business since 1988, as a travel agent and then a group and incentive specialist, before opening Latitudes Travel & Tours in 1996. In October of 2005 she was awarded the Médaille de Tourisme by the French government for her efforts in promoting travel to France.
