Languedoc - Roussillon
West
of Provence, stretching along the coast, Languedoc Rousillon has
much in common with its neighbor Provence sunny climate,
mountains and seaside, artistic heritage and ancient ruins. Its
most famous tourist is Robert Louis Stevenson, who journeyed through
the Cevennes with Modestine and wrote about his journey
in Travels with a Donkey. Languedoc also boasts the
largest medieval city in Europe, magical Carcassonne, the Pont
du Gard, and the lovely city of Nîmes.
